Fill up a basin with warm water, add 1 cup of Epsom salt to the water and stir. Add one small spoon of baking soda (optional). The essential oils are really the “plus” and the funny part to this soak as there’s really a huge variety of essential oils to be used! To relieve dryness, usually, the following are recommended : Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Rose, Chamomile, Lavender. Sweet Almond Oil/ Avocado oil/Jojoba oil are also amazing moisturizing oils that can be applied directly on the skin.

Shea butter comes from the nuts of African Shea trees: it’s a premium skin moisturizer full of vitamin A., E and D. As its name indicates, it has a butter-like consistency and should not be placed in a warn environment (it’s going to melt). Coconut oil has well-known nourishing and softening properties. The combination would be : 2 part Shea butter/1 part coconut oil.
You will have a yummy balm that you can use for the whole body. Some suggest to make a big quantity and save it already prepared but if you are not familiar with the sterilization techniques of the containers, we can suggest to simply do this mix each time you want to apply to it.

We already spoke about this mixture in another article but it’s so good that it can be featured twice : 1 spoon olive oil, 1 spoon honey and 1 spoon lemon juice. Rub and gently massage your feet in this homemade mix, then apply a bandage, cellophane or simply clean socks and let it rest for about 1h. Rinse with clear water.

You will find them easily in most of retail stores and online.
